Installed 10 Enterprise (upgraded from 7 ultimate w/Daz loader) on July 30. I recall trying to switch to Pro soon afterwards (fresh install), but it wouldnt work, this I believe due to the existing 10 enterprise version/key being tied to my hardware. Any way to replace a 10 enterprise installation with 10 Pro? Thanks.
Yes you can go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion and change Enterprise into Professional on the 2 locations. After that start an upgrade with the pro iso and you can keep all your files and settings
Thanks, but is there a specific product key I need to enter or will it automatically generate a new one?
OK working with the generic key. Much thanks! Windows 10 Version 1511 Pro & Home | Build 10586 | x64 | en-us - MSDN (Size: 3.74 GB) SHA1: 875EC108288B9F581E5D8099CF0EDB79F0F3E483
There was no reason to UPGRADE, Enterprise has nothing to do with windows 10 free offer, there is no key tied to anything with VL OS. At any time you can clean install Enterprise, upgrading does noting towards getting activated. You can just clean install pro, and use the key endbase said -T83GX this turns pro into a VL and KMS, then you can go with generic key.
