Not surprisingly also W7 VHD System Images appear in the RE of W10 when trying to restore a W10 VHDx Backup Image.
The question is if one could use W10's Image Restore to restore a W7 Image, in other words , will it be restored
to the correct partition ? I stopped at some point in the restoration process and better didn't want to try and possibly lose my partitions.

Generally it'd be interesting to know what method is used to determine the partition location, I would think that it's the
partition GUID (which is part of the VHD(x) backup filename). The GUID for a partition however doesn't
seem to be unique, mountvol shows different values for the same partition in W7/W10, means the GUID used for creation
of the Image in W7 is not known when running W10.
(Yes, I know about Ghost/Acronis etc as probably better solutions, but interesting anyway I guess)

    Simplified partition layout
    HD1 : W7x64 / Data1
    HD2 : W7x86 / LMDE / Data2
    HD3 : W10x64 / Data 3

    Thanks
