Hi, I'm looking for an application please, I've setup Windows 7 just the way I like it, fresh install and all drivers/software needed, is there a free application that will image my hard drive onto a DVD so in the event I need to do a re-install I can put the DVD in the drive and it will reset my machine to the current setup with drivers/applications.

    Thank You.

Paragon Backup and Recovery Free has the option to either make an image and then you can put those files on a dvd(s), or it has an option where you can have it write the image to iso files that you can then later burn to a dvd(s).

I myself prefer Paragon to the other free solutions out there. I've never once had any issues with it...

Check your hard disk manufacturer. If it is WD for your boot disk/drive, get acronis free for wd from wd site (support/downloads). Similarly for Seagate.
I find it extremely reliable and am using acronis free for both desktop and laptop.

I really like Acronis True Image. After using Ghost, Genie, etc at one time or another at work, I honestly think it's the best out there.

True, Acronis is not free, but I can vouch for it, and it is affordable. I've used it for years and it's saved my butt a few times. I have not used the EaseUS free utility. I think back when I first got Acronis, the EaseUS one was not yet available. I did use their free partition utility and found it competent.

Paragon is completely free and just as good if not better than acronis, period...
