I think this is because I have more than 1 unformatted drive but windows seems to always ignore the fact it has no partition on it and despite me wanting windows and the bootloader on my primary drive it just goes straight for the drive plugged into the 1st sata slot which is a pain.

Is there a way for me to force it to just install windows and bootloader onto the drive I click new partition/format on? Or at least one that doesnt involve me going into command prompt and doing it manually?

Must commit it can be quite distracting if one posts 3 threads at once for the same topic .

So if the partition itself is cloned to the SSD from the Mechanical then it will still boot properly after deleting the system reserved from the mechanical?

50/50 or better sometimes it does and sometimes doesn't! Problem is SSD related!

Well at this point I don't have much on it so I think the best bet is to do a fresh install to get it proper.

I would never clone from mechanical to SSD, that's just to force problems!

As Smorgan told, and clean install is on order!

Why not? I've done it tons of times without a single issue.

Now that I do not understand my ssd actually came with usb to sata connection and software to clone the drive. But I used acronis because I only wanted to copy system reserved and c:\ boot partition.
