    Hello

    I was wondering if there is any live cd of a windows system like xp, or vista or win7

    mobo died a few weeks ago, getting a new one (different model)
    and the mobo died while backing up files to format and re-install windows

    is there a way i can just use the computer with a new mobo, to continue backing up the software without it causing problems while backing up

    the hard drive has windows 7 installed on it, but i dont want the system to act up while im doing a backup.

    please help

    As for your question for a live-cd :

    In Control Panel, click System and Security (System and Security), and then click Backup and Restore (Backup and Restore).

    In the left pane, click Create a system recovery disk (Create a system recovery disc);

    Insert a blank CD in the DVD, and then click Create Disk (Create Disc).

    The disc is created is a few seconds:
    To check, reboot the system on the DVD player.

    It'll hold the same tools as on the installation dvd, but it will load much faster, and can be very handy in case of certain issues.

    Your initial problem was mobo died when backing up files it won't matter what you use to backup live cd or what, if that happens.
