I have noticed that sometimes when I boot up (not always) some of the system tray icons do not display, even though the program is running - and yes, I have the option selected to always show all icons & notifications. Not even going into Customize and changing the options will display any of the icons. As I say, it's not a consistent issue and i haven't been able to detect any pattern of when or why, but I have noticed it is usually the same icons that do not display. Any ideas? Thanks!
this happened to me with Spybot Search & Destroy .. but only at it's initial install .. after a few restarts .. it was normal again ... are you sure it's running? have you altered anything in services.msc ?
Yes, interestingly SpyBot (TeaTimer) is one of the ones involved. I will give that MS HotFix a try! Thanks much! (Gotta luv that MS says you may have to run it more than once - must be similar one of the old load-time evaluators, that determined the optimum start order of the TSR programs)
Thanks for the Services guide, i'll give it a look-through. Have already gone through most of the services, but one can always learn more I'll let you know how things progress over the next few re-boots (will probably be a week or so)
