Evening all, I have a young family member who is learning how to read and his father wants a text to speech program to help him learn how to pronounce words correctly. I was hoping you guys and gals could help us by recommending some decent free software that could get this job done. Currently I have them running off of the speech function built into windows 7, wondering if there was anything better out there to use. Thanks.
Panopreter Plus reads out any text, text file, rft file, pdf file, web page and word document, and converts the text or files to wave and mp3 audio files. It also includes Panopreter toolbar which reads out web page opened with Internet Explorer, and converts the text on the webpage to wave or mp3 audio file. By the way, the voice of Microsoft Anna on Windows Vista and 7 is clearer than the voice of Microsoft Sam on Windows XP. So you can get a better sound quality when you run the program on Windows Vista/7 .
