A quick question on the delivery of upcoming TH2 - do we have any idea whether the final bits will be delivered to existing Windows 10 users in the form of a complete upgrade (similar to the way Windows 7/8 PCs updated to Windows 10) or via a cumulative update through Windows Update?
Who knows, but probably complete upgrade. Which is fine, since you still keep your apps\files\settings. Only down side is the download file size.
Cumulative updates already require servicing stack update KB3081452 installed, Fall Update will too if it's cumulative other than that, it's a good news refreshed ISO/ESD with Fall Update preinstalled should be good enough

Yes, if the TH 2 is updated on the media creation tool, when you clean install win 10 you can enter the old OS key, but there's no need to seeing how it still gets updated through MS server using HWID.
It is reported on the Web that th2_Release is to be released on 2 Nov. If this is true then MSFT would have to sign off today or tomorrow to make the release date right ? What does MDL People think ?
