    Hello there,
    I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 2008 R2 ....
When I turned IIS on, My Event viewer shows error: "The Application Host Helper Service service hung on starting.".

I have done: manually restarted the service, virus scan, adaware, spybot, chkdsk /r, ran memory tests, updated all drivers, Firewall is off,...

Any other suggestions for a very frustrated user?

    Thanks in advance :)

7022 EventID will be reported when the Service Control Manager cannot start a service. In this case it is the App. Host Helper Service that is giving it trouble.

If you go to Blackviper.com, and look up the App. Host Helper Service, you will see it is needed by Internet Information Services (IIS). Very few home users need this.... pretty much IIS is only installed if you run some type of web site.

It tells you at Blackviper how to turn App. Host Helper Service off. Nothing to worry about.

Lots of other info there about services if you need more help!
