Most folks have answered with the obvious (and good) advice, but instead of Greenify, checkout an app called [ROOT] Servicely by Fransisco Franco (you can find it in the Playstore, or he's very well known @ XDA Forums if you frequent there) Personally I find it better than Greenify for ultimate battery saving. Definitely my go to app and one of the very few apps I actually purchased. (Also there is free version)
