You could also try ophcr**k or konboot ophcrack works on SAM files - works with xp and some vista versions konboot should work on any version - bypasses login by patching kernal on the fly use google to find them.
There are many Linux solutions..simply reset or blank passwords is quick. The previous post and lophtcrk is probably the best for non destructive recovery..
