Hello W10 TH2. I can't really understad how "All Apps" menu get his list of apps and how to remove the link without unininstall the app itself Example, i have try with calculator: 1) Delete all entry in the registry with that name, all. Sometime i have change permission, the shortcut in the "All Apps" is still there 2) Delete all the file on the PC with that name, including the Program Files\Windows App, the shortcut in the "All Apps" is still there No other trace on the PC, where the damn Windows take the name and the icon? How i can rid of that link without uninstall it? Thanks for the help
C:\Users\"YOUR USER ACCOUNT"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs is where you can add your own shortcuts that actually work.
Again, the path you specified has nothing to do with it and this is about removing modern Apps shorcuts, not adding
Win key + R type shell:AppsFolder hit enter If you really want to get dangerous you have to take ownership of C:\Program Files\WindowsApps Then give your account full access and return ownership to TrustedInstaller All the apps, icons, etc are in folders in there.
I think the only one for now has understand something is abbodi1406... 1) The "start menu" folders, really? You have enlighten my day lol. There is nothing about Calculator, my example of a moder app, in that folders 2) I'll repeat, i have delete all related file of Calculator from the PC INCLUDING WindowsApps and the shortcut is still there
OMG from my first post, how to remove the link ( obv from "All apps" of the start menu ) without uninstall the app itself, why is so hard to understand? I want to personalize the apparance of the menu, not remove the app from the PC but i can't find the entry point of the link in the start menu of the modern apps. Is not a registry entry or folder/file with the name *calculator* since i have REMOVED ALL and the link is still there, with his icon/name. Hope is clear now
I would like to know this as well, the built in apps are getting too much space in the all apps menu!
Check if this command change anything: Code: %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe %windir%\system32\AppXDeploymentExtensions.dll,ShellRefresh
After i have delete all the registry entry of the app AND do that command, the shortcut is still there...i can do also for the files but i think is useless. P.S. Also without all that registry stuff the app still working.
