Five computers activated with Hazar's "old" key and one with the new one, plus the "suspicious" updates pack installed, Windows Defender up to date, all optional updates installed all connected to the Internet and still running activated. Troll, no doubt about it.
I have the MSI slic 2.1 in my Gigabyte bios with the corresponding certs, i had automatics updates "on" (maybe my mistake here) I have no loader's etc ... nothing. All was running fine until this morning, "bam" an alert telling me my Win7 is running not genuine poped in my face and the destop changed to the not genuine message .... near the clock ... Reverted to the old activation key and it's ok then. In my case, i'm not joking here ... and im no troll either.
How do I prevent update? Windows says it will install updates when I shut down or at 3 PM How do i prevent it? Rich
Don't panic!! Soon we will have new ones and Win7 will be activated for ever!! For me the key is working as a charm.
Try searching forums allready discussed problems with some gigabyte boards. nothing to do with key being banned it isn't.
They said they gonna blacklist it but they didn't. I think they realized it is pointless as it is OEM SLP key not Retail key. Remember they said their target group are not crazy "modders"? so they will probably let it go.
MS cannot prevent the Lenovo master OEM key, or the newer Dell key from locally activating windows 7 boxes, those license files are already in the RTM win7 disc...but they can block windows updates for computers running that key, and that is what the MS blog says they plan to do....maybe even force reduced function mode (they stated way back they would add code to 7 for future OEM licensing exploits) Obviously any PC trying to update OEM license, when no such computers are in retail channels yet, can be flagged as non-genuine if MS chooses to do so....and judging from this forum and Chinese BIOS mod forums, there are quite a number of windows 7 OEM licensed PC's using windows updates.
