The 3v66t key is a sort of place holder to be professional same with the other keys like Core ones as they used with HWID. MAK keys are not stored in the registry like normal PID keys are , so they have BBBB etc instead. Mak keys are much like KMS but they have a different licence channel. 1 key has x activation's then expire for further attempts when limit reached.
1. I havent used QueryTool since ages. Thanks But those computers originally came with Vista and are 10+ years old. They even have Windows Vista decals. Im sure there isnt anything like a Windows 7 / 8.1 SLIC inside of the BIOS. 2. Thanks for the info about generated MAK keys. I keep searching for more infos. 3. Right now I dont know much more. Maybe they used VAMT (Volume Activation Management Tool) to set up the computers windows licenses, but there also is no server, just hundreds of single computers attached to the internet, behind a small router and a firewall. There are no SQL instances and stuff.
if they came with vista they will have either slic v2.0 or they used oem/retail licences. The QT will show if a slic table present. Some official bios upgrades can add slic v2.1 but rare.
Thank you so far. There are 2 rooms, each having 30 PCs. All using MAK keys. According to MS KMS can be used with 10 computers already and you dont have to be afraid of reinstalling your system. MAK keys can be used for up to 5000 computers but have limited rearms. My question would be, why would one choose MAK instead of KMS for 60 computers ?
If all is legit it will probably all about the money, which one is cheaper to buy for companies of certain sizes?
Is there a public, basic "price structure" available, which I could use for orientation ? Like, KMS seems to be "good" for small companies. Hell, why not buy 5 or 10 x Windows 10 Retail instead. And MAK seems like beeing a "good" for huge companies ? No its vice versa xD
