It needs a lot of work. For example when I try to view a video that is in a link to Vimeo, I get a pop up block dialog even though I have put Vimeo's URL in the exception window. So I have to reauthorize popups from Vimeo each time. Then when I get to Vimeo on the second try there are no controls to play the video. I've participated in these preliminary user programs with each new version of Windows since Windows 95. Windows 8 is the least useable of them all. This doesn't reflect well upon Microsoft (and I'm not even getting into the fact that many features of Windows 7 have been changed to make them more difficult to use). Another problem is that my USB wireless adapter connects to the router upon booting into Windows 8 but then immediately disconnects. I have to manually connect to the router each time I boot into Windows 8 even though it is set to automatically connect. So I'm going back to Windows 7. Perhaps when Microsoft releases Windows 8 I'll take another look at it. But I'm not expecting miracles from Microsoft.
+1. People seriously use IE? Exactly what I thought when I saw the thread title. +1. IE9 and 10 are definitely improvements over 6, 7 and earlier. However, they develop these improvements at such a slow rate versus Firefox and even Chrome. I have no idea what it would take for me to ever go back to primarily use IE. Maybe there may come a time I won't like Firefox anymore, or prefer Chrome or some other to Firefox, but at this rate MS will reach CURRENT Firefox's useability (for me, anyway) in about 25 years. Someone's paying for this stuff!?
oh,we understand. it's just that some opinions label it as horrible, like my opinion, not facts but opinion which can be interpreted as useless babble
Perhaps you could give us a link to the video(s) you were having problems with. Were you watching the videos on Vimeo.com or on a site that embeds Vimeo videos? Are you using IE10 Metro or desktop? I tried watching a few videos on Vimeo.com using IE10 and have not gotten any dialogs from the pop up blocker and all the controls are available and working for me.
