I don't do any gaming, I mainly do programming and play a lot with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox, etc...)

I need and want utmost stability and not have to worry about upgrading my OS every year there's a new feature update.

I am trying to choose between Windows Server 2022 (Iron, builds 20348.xxxx) and Server 2025 (Germanium, builds 26100.xxxx)...

Which one of the two is the most stable and performant, and will give me less issues in the long run? Thanks in advance.

Note: I am aware that any OS I run on this machine will run fast as heck, my concern here is stability and time of support. I also know its very common for people to use Server as a workstation OS precisely due to the extra stability.

I have been using it for more than 8 months and I personally think it is much better than 2025. The latter does not even feel like a server system to me.
