why wouldn't you buy a battery for it? they're great laptops, and batteries are cheap. I went for the 12 cell ones but I wouldn't recommend them. you get 7 hours battery sure, but it's not built well enough to support the laptop with it. plus I think the onboard temp sensors in the battery are faked to 25C which isn't great when you've got 12 of them.
Thanks for that link. Using Win7 (32bit) it does indeed show a resolution of 1400x1050. So not widescreen. It says 1.19 is for widescreen in that link. I have BIOS 2.18 though (EC 1.7) when using HWINFO32. It says BIOS 2.12 (79ETD2WW) and EC 1.07 when checking it in the BIOS itself. Hum...okay....
Which resolution You are shown or what You can choose depends on the graphics driver, not the BIOS version or OS.
Eh ? Im fully aware of that But there is a BIOS for the widescreen models AND a BIOS for the "non-widescreen" models, which would be mine : So, I guess I go for the 2.27 now...
My old battery suddenly started to charge again with LTSB 2016 (x32). For sure not a good sign... x'D But the "79uj34es.exe" (BIOS 2.27) installed just fine using this version of Win10. Using HWINFO the BIOS shows up as 2.39 (EC 1.7) - but finally 79ETE7WW (2.27)
