What slc are you using? Should windows be activated before of does it work after replacing the files? Of does it just break the computer propperties screen like the vista one?

It doesn't break anything (tested it for months, hehe) + you don't need to activate it.
    I use my own DLL.

If you really want to activate it (it's sensless), then do it before installing that dll.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me.

    - Ran install.bat as admin, and it kept throwing up "The specified path could not be found" or similar
    - Restarted, on login received 3 or 4 error messages.
    - Now it just hangs on a black screen after logging in

    o_O

    Edit:

I just double checked, all the error messages refer to SHELL32.dll being missing

Ok, then just do the normal way without the install batch :)

Take own the files, set R/W on your Account, rename SHELL32.DLL to SHELL32_OLD.dll copy the provided SHELL32.dll to system32 (Same way for the others), but don't forget, the original slc.dll needs to be named slc_orig.dll.

That's why I meant you should check before you are rebooting :)

Thomas: I am sure you should have applied the TB-remover to your win8, so what I suggest is:

    1. Set your BIOS to a date later than July 2.
    2. Open your cmd window, enter the "date" and "time" like this:
    View attachment 9751
    3. Do not close the cmd window
    4. After 2 hours, enter the "date" and "time" again.

Since the cmd windows can only show both two elapsed times if there were no reboot in-between, it would be a definite proof that the time-bomb has been de-activated.

We can worry about installation bugs or activations later, all people need is a 7955 that can run without reboot upto Sept./Oct.

With that timebomb "killer" comes a message which says that windows is not genuine.

That message is somewhere else located and you can't ged rid of it. It doesn't say its not genuine, it says it needs to be activated, and that once / boot (has nothing to do with the timebomb(!)).

@FaiKee: It doesn't reboot...I've tested that already a few months ago with some peoples.

Sorry for all the question, I'm just interested, but why do you patch msvcr100?
And would it be possible to compile a x64 slc? for 7959?

OK, if you say so, I guess many people would test on that anyway just to have a peace of mind.

I notice your 2 files were finished in May 7, and Blackzero's file were June 14, and gave you a thanks in his batch file. I really don't care what happened, as long as the TB remover works. :D
