?

Should I use powershell in this script to add more features? Vista will no longer be supported.

    @Krinal

    It does. However, if you're planning to deploy on a real hardware, then note that the underlying codebase of WindSLIC might need some rewriting to gain compatibility with modern UEFI implementations.

    Well, yes I was talking about real hardware.
    But I'm not expert in this field. I just gave suggestion to improve script.

    May be we've got an expert in MDL who can rewrite WindSLIC?

    As now we've got a script thanks to @exe csrss we can add support for all possible OEM Activations.

    I think the easiest thing to do will be to use Clover. But I don't have any experience in using Clover unfortunately.

    Clover is a popular open source bootloader mostly used for hackintoshes.
    It has several advantages over WindSLIC:
    1) It is actively developed
    2) It is much better for modern hardware
    3) It has a huge community of active users

    The release with switches is a release candidate.
    I have sent you a PM, test it and tell me if it works :)

    Yes, using Clover would be a better idea IMHO, cause the project supports inserting a new SLIC table as well as dropping an existing (incomplete) one. I haven't poked around OpenCore much, but it would be an overkill to use it only for SLIC emulation.

    Clover is good when user want to boot his or her machine on a pure legacy bios but in uefi mode it sucks a lot.
    for uefi oc bootloader is the best .

    [for hacknitoshers only]

    Maybe it will be better on UEFI for Windows users. Tito said that using OC just for SLIC emulation was overkill.

    @ShanzW7User

    Can you please go to the "Advanced options" tab of Daz's loader, disable access to type 4 memory, and then reinstall the loader?

    Tried that, believe I tried legacy as well but I'll try legacy again. I also tried the option to ignore existing SLIC.

    Going to try I guess, tried disabling type 4 and enabling legacy again, no dice. Thanks a ton for the quick responses. Also worth noting, my OS partition is actually GPT not MBR (though I could've sworn I initialized as MBR) according to my disk management tools. My bios bootmode is UEFI/Legacy, I have had trouble loading win7 before on other machines using ONLY UEFI before.
