Hi, i have a toshiba a210-1ao, and i have this problem. I bought a battery compatible, in fact two batteries. First battery problem was, when i`v tried to charging the battery stops on 90% and my baterry led it stop. The second one, when i start the laptop on battery, not ac plugged, and bios appear, the laptop it shutdown. Bottom line, i think is something with the bios recognition battery. Something linking with OEM? U have any ideea? We can mode the bios to recognize the battery? After this i`v tried 2 original battery and the laptop works grate. and the compatible battery has working grate on another 2 toshiba laptops. Something it is strange. I wait for an ideea.
sounds like battery problems the 90% one is the battery overheating and stop charging possably the other may be a battery that will not hold a charge please test the batterys in another laptop and then see if they do the same (or get the toshiba diagnostics floppy/cd and test the batterys) all most alll newer batterys are LIon same as cell phone and only last 1~4 years depending on use
