Hi I have Toshiba L655 PSK1JE bricked bios.

    This is the problem:

    1. I have dumped the original bios from the chip Winbond W25Q80B the file size is 1mbyte

    2. I download the original Bios file from support.toshiba.eu BB10240.FD and the file size is 4,07 MB

Strange, I can't write the file directly on the chip via flash programmer. I read the datasheet of W25Q80B and I can see the chip is 8 mbit.

Probably I need to extract the bios file from BB10240.FD ?

    Which hex block is ?

    Thank you

This is link for both files, dump original and file from web site

bingo.. thats the one give me 9 mins

    try this one http://www.mediafire.com/?mb6p3qj99hb68v8

tip use HxD editor and read from bottom up on both files.. youl see difference eventually..
lil trick on this one search for
    Berlin_
backup bios starts at 12D6F on dload bios..

then copy that whole line to end of bios dload.. to the backup.bin same line .. i noticed it shifted by 1 bit above the line i said to find.. so its from beginign to there.. so likely had a garbage bit in there. possibly in begining. not the bios dload part.

    yours ÿÿÿÿBerlin_Breme
    dload ÿÿÿBerlin_Bremen

seems the bios has a 0x20 at 0x1C .. maybe the issue with this bioses from toshiba ?? (dload does too.. older version does ??)
can a super expert confirm this ? ( YEN ?)

Yes I am using HxD and FileAlyzer, I can see a lot of difference between two files original stock from website BB10240.FD and this one 32bit.bin

I don't understand why dump.bin has same hex data as the web site file from toshiba BB10240.FD bios

But the file sizes are different.

Maybe main bios file has to be extracted from BB10240.FD ?

original dload bios.. errase 0 to 12D6C there u have bios... compare now.

    i have to go..

btw compare the begining of the first dump.bin with the beginign of the dload bios.. seems thats a match mostly.. its EC

heres the dumps for both chips from rusia site.
