    Hi all.

Well i was messing earlier with a genuine Toshiba BIOS .rom file.
My mates wants help adding SLIC 2.1 to his lappy.

I used the Pheonix Tool 1.84 to do this. And i have a couple of questions.

The tool kept throwing up errors saying FAILED to open this and that file ?
It asked for a RW report ???? Not sure about this.

But after all this it said it was succesfull. File made.

Would this work or do i have to address these errors

Now this might sound a bit daft but I was only Given toshiba Sattelite A215

I looked on the Toshiba download site and found there wer actually quite a few A215 with a prefix after it. The owner was unsure of what else to look for. So i just downloaded one to test. Just for my own purposes really.

I Wont be able to see the lappy,it live in the USA and I am in the UK.....

It sounds dafter the more I type.

I will have to get more info off the owner..

    Cheers for the reply though..

Well I downloaded the correct BIOS file.
Extracted the files. then extracted the largest exe file and got a .ROM file.

I opened this in the Pheonix tool and it worked this time. No errors.

I load in the .BIN and CERT but it asks for the RW Report..

Not used the Pheonix tool before so I dont know what the RW Report is or how to get it..Will have to go look..

Any tips on this please ?

    Cheers..

Well i dug a bit and found the RW Everything tool and read how to make a RW Report..

I tested it on my PC..Worked a treat and quite easy too.

I tested the Phoenix tool with the BIOS .rom,Toshiba SLIC21. bin and cert and my RW report.

It succesfully made a Toshiba SLIC 2.1 BIOS .rom...

Just have to get the lappy owner to make a RW report and I'm good to go...
