Touchpad settings in WIndows 8.1 Preview are grayed out and I can't change them.
It is fresh clean install of Windows 8.1 Preview on hdd not in VM.
If someone of you knows workaround or some registry settings, I would appreciate that.
I already tried to uninstall driver and on startup is automatic installed. It's basic Microsoft driver.

Please if someone can help because it is very annoying when typing or something else because touchpad is not my primary mouse device. For detailed info it's Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 laptop with synaptics device.

    Thanks in advance

guess you should find the original driver on Toshiba site and replace generic driver of 8.1

On Toshiba site is only Windows 7 driver, they don't have Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 drivers for my model

Thanks the drivers are working on WIndows 8.1 but the touchpad settings in PC Settings are still grayed out.

honestly, at this point, I assume that this is a beta bug. Perhaps guys with Toshiba experience can tell more about the issue. Normally, when the original machine driver is installed, everything should work fine.
perhaps some chipset issues are pending ... ?

No, but the driver works. I disabled touchpad via it's own settings which appears when driver is installed. But settings in Metro Control Panel for touchpad are grayed out.
