For what it's worth: The accusation seems to have first been made by a Twitter account associated with the Anonymous movement, which claimed that the FBI were using the site to catch those engaged in illegal file-sharing. ALERT: STAY AWAY from The Pirate Bay website as we have gotten reports that it has been seized indirectly by the FBI and is logging IPs. — TheAnonMessage (@TheAnonMessages) February 1, 2015 More at: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...ap-but-security-concerns-remain-10025328.html
http://torrentfreak.com/pirate-bay-will-ditch-cloudflare-asks-users-moderate-150203/ stems from hurt feelings and rubbish, attempts to get back at TPB for being a meany (not that I actually agree with the decision) http://torrentfreak.com/pirate-bay-wont-make-a-full-comeback-staff-revolt-150127/ latest info. http://torrentfreak.com/the-pirate-bay-left-moldova-before-government-piracy-meeting-150205/ I wouldn't take any of it to heart yet. Give it a month or so to sort itself out.
Not enough real news while the pirates are brawling. Once the fecal matter rises to the surface it can be better disseminated.
I don't trust it, yet. I'll give it some time and see what happens. Seems kind of shady, but who knows.
I tend to agree for the moment. Looking at the current "new" torrents, there isn't many ready to take the plunge yet either. No rush, time will tell. Then I will know if I need to put a red circle with a line through my avatar or not
While I can't disagree with whats been said here, there is something else to consider: If it has been taken over or is being backed by government agency's. It can sit there for years maybe even decades, doing very little. As the cost of running it will mean nothing to them. Whereas if its being running by people trying to make a living or just for the fun of it. The longer it sits there not being used, the more likely it is to shut down.
