i tried for the 2nd time winodws 11 on a dell m4600 laptop i7 2760qm. the first time was many months ago. faced more problems so i gave up. well i want to ask if the CPU unsupported is the cause of the problems just because it isnt supported. installed w11. on windows 10 i run some tweaks. so i did the same on w11. first time after a reboot i faced could not sign in to your profile. i had to clean install again/ then the second time it would not shut down or restart. so i gave up. i find w11 to be a bit faster at computing taks. but i also find that some of the animations lags or opening of apps takes just a bit longer. so is w11 unstable.? or its unstable because am unsupported. anyone else had used on sandy bridge 2nd GEN CPU.? how was it.?
Never tested on Sandy bridge but on ivy bridge (which is pretty close) it works as expected (by MS, not by me )
People (including me) even have installed it on ancient low spec core 2 duo systems without any problems, last ancient system i installed 22621.xxxx on was a first gen i5 650 and all worked fine. Try again without "tweaking" it.
I have a 12 years old Asus laptop with a i5-2410M processor. It works fine on a non tweaked w11 22621.1928 pc.
I have attempted to install it on four laptops. Same models. Same laptops. i7-2655LE cores. All have the same graphics card Intel HD 3000. Works great on the default VGA driver, but when WU installs a new graphics driver, I get the "KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED" error. Sometimes the laptop may be good for a few mins, then other times I receive this error during boot or shortly after. Appears to be related to the graphics card driver but not sure. Can not seem to find one that works. No version of W11 works but found the laptops work great on W10 as long as you do not install any version later than 1909. Corrected: The graphics card is HD 3000, not HD 5500.
I have an old HP notebook with the I7-3820M cpu. That has the same Intel HD Graphics 4000, and that notebook has no problem with Windows 11. I'll have to dig it out of the closet and fire it up to see just what graphics driver it's using. But it's definitely not the default VGA driver, as it has a 17 inch full HD display. And I was running it on Windows 10 19044 before upgrading to Windows 11, also with no problems.
HD 4000 and HD 2500 = Ivy bridge = 3rd gen Core CPU HD 3000 and HD 2000 = Sandy bridge = 2nd gen Core CPU Close but definitely not the same.
the newer the OS the harder it is to gain control.. then it must be something i tweak that w11 dont like BUT using W11 with no tweaks its like eating a candy with the paper wrapper on. or say sex with condom... its not the same.....LOL thank you... i have hd 3000 and have not faced that.. i use the windows update driver for intel hd 3000. on a laptop. i did see that many drivers were missing. but using the driver booster did work.. but only onw drive was not installed... tried also snappy drivers from gleens delahoy page.. only shows 3 drivers.. when i use snappy driver and then driver booster all drivers a installed.
That's simple to solve, just use Server 11, cleaner than LTSC and Defendr can be uninstalled with two clicks, officially.
I have installed Windows 11 successfully on i5 gen 2 laptop. I used Rufus to install the iso . It also has tweaks for non supported hardware ,non UEFI etc. The laptop is an old Fujitsu AH531. I would not run windows 10 past Creators as it would randomly install a rogue driver and go into an endless blue screen bootloop. But I was really surprised when Windows 11 ran on it. It runs better than W7 did on it. I can now run my fave DAW music programs and drivers without worry. Hope this helps
I have a Intel HD Graphics, driver version 9.17.10.4459 19/05/2016 and it is running fine (installed by WU).
i want to stick to w11... i am back on w11. but need some help.. just finished installing everything.. when it hanged.... now i know whay it hanged .. i was out of memory cache memory took all my memory... so tried to free some . but nothing would open..tried control -alt- del nothing.. i had to press power button to shut it down.. . upon restart again WE CANT SIGN YOU ON. bla bla bla. ok for the memory ill just wont use any tweaks. but now i need to find out what causes the we cant sing you on bla bla bla... so am in temporary account. am pissed just as i finished setting it up. not sure how to find out the cause.. i will try to search online.. maybe its a service related thing. not sure..
can you share your memory usage at idle.? i have 32GB and last time i checked i had 20GB cached. also found out that when it hanged it had cache all the memory... wich brings me to my next question. snipping tool. it closes. anyway to have w10 instead.? i have laptop with integraded and dedicated GPUs. the store for ezample closes but once i select wich card to use it works.. but the app that closes doesnt show up in nvidia control panel .. on w10 it closes i havent try on w11.. ok just tried on w11 store closes but it appears in the list to chosse wich GPU tp use.. but snipping tool and also right click and terminal or terminal admin closes as well they do not appear in nvidia control panel list .
