Hello MDL , I need your help please, I tried today to install windows 8.1 but occurred a trouble: in the step when to choose a drive for install there are such things: Drive 0 Partition 1 - 100MB system Drive 0 Partition 2 - 128MB MSR (Reserved) Drive 0 Partition 3 - 100GB Primary Drive 0 Partition 4 - 197GB Primary (that last one is my Data repository) when i choose 3rd one (100GB Drive) there was error mark below: ,,Windows can't be installed on this drive. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style." same to other partitions too. also to my boot priority in BIOS is strange things , see below a screen shots. there is no even usb option to boot from it. what is that any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
First decide if you want to use MBR or GPT. If you use MBR, make a new MBR partition table. If you stick to GPT, boot the windows DVD in UEFI mode, not legacy mode. Second, to boot from USB, try the boot menu instead of UEFI settings. Consult the manual of your motherboard on how to use it. You have to press a hotkey at bootup.
I do not need that style modes, i would like run in legacy mode, i don not know why is there such partitions. there is no now legacy mode to enable also boot menu too, to choose usb as it is shown on above attached screenshot. also i look out and no secure boot found too.
