    Hi,

    I created a trimmed version of Win 8.1 Single Language with MSMG toolkit and removed Media feature pack with Packages remove option. Now I tried to add the pack with offline installer Windows8.1-KB2929699-x64.exe but it gave me error that this pack is not applicable for your Windows. So I extracted the Cab and installed it with Dism Online Switch. But it appears to be completely un-influential still can't play the iTunes AAC encodes.

    Are there any other options I could try ? I just want AAC decoding ability and to display the ID3 tags in Windows explorer.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you reading.

    @kaljukass

    That UWP package isn't applicable for Windows 8.1.

    If You mean that what is for Windows 10, then of course not. You didn't saw, that there is written Windows 10?

    Update:

    3rd part media packs don't appear to be working either. Though I haven't tried FFmpeg decoder because I think it's s**tty. FAAD is far superior but I don't know how to get windows to use it instead :(
