The bios is for my K8N-DRE that used to runs old ubuntu. I had 3 of them all running boinc on ubuntu 24x7. I wish to use win7x64 pro as I have problem configureing boinc tools on latest ubuntu with nvidia boards and they are not running now. picture of 1 of my boards hxxp://no_short_urls_allowed/cm7lsmj with GTS-250 co-processor (scroll down near end of thread) location of bios after I got it from asus server hxxp://stateson.net/images/I8019A00.500 I have been using AMI tools 1.63 after trying others that failed to load that I8019A00.500 image Problem#1 = "Unable to extract 1b". After reading thru this site I found the suggestion to Untick 'Replace 1B module' and tick 'Always Shrink 1B' This didnt work nor did the "use extra space" nor the "dont change ACPI". hxxp://stateson.net/images/failed1b.png Problem#2 = It seems my 1B module is too big. Error Image from running that 1.63 app is here hxxp://stateson.net/images/shrink1b.png I am not using any of the SCSI or RAID stuff so about 1/2 of the bios is probably not needed. I donate my computers (and electricity) to help solve various distributed programming problems using BOINC and it would be nice to get these up on win7x64. I dont mind trying stuff on these systems as I have 3 identical and have hot-swapped bios before when I screwed up. Any help appreciated, and ... THANKS FOR LOOKING!
hmm 1.63 work for me too in win7 x86 .. so tito must be right .. or its windows 8 and u need to unblock all the .exe's
Well, I have this problem before with AMI Tool v1.61 & v1.62. At last found that the culprit is MSE's real time protection. Its scanning routine interferes in MMTool's automation.
