Does anyone use it ??? if so do you recommend people to use it. Does this tool also overclock stuff ?
I use it, is a good utility to keep your computer health. As far as I know the program has nothing to do with any kind of overclock. P.S.: I use TU since the 2004 version.
Good because i never overclocked something. So will windows 7 boot up faster ? i read they can give a performance boost in booting.
Tune Up 2010.. Recommended.. Honestly bro.. I've been using this soft for years now.. and I was always more than satisfied.. However, this edition 2010 is remarkably better than all previous.. many new applications make it superb in my opinion.. and above all it supports windows 7.. The interface is so cool and nice.. and clear.. The soft in intended to speed up your pc and correct errors in system including registry errors.. The only drawback in program in my perspective is that it doesn't support backing up your system.. But you wont need this in windows 7.. Rating 9.5/10.. Grab it bro..
Let me clarify that point bro.. It doesn it make it boot faster from no where.. Technically, they show you a window or something as to choose what programs to allow to start up as windows starts up.. In this way, unnecessary programs and stuff are disabled on startup.. Thereby, speeding up your booting process..
I have another question about Turbo Mode. Why does TuneUp not use that setting when i reboot my pc/laptop ??? i need to click on the Turbo Mode icon everytime ????
I've had it for a while and have been using TUs since 2008. Turbo does NOT overclock anything. It only disables background services AND AERO temporarily for faster running. Registry cleaning etc will NOT make your system faster and may even cause serious issues, as has happened to me before. TU is good for system tweaking, under the hood settings and customizations. It is great for maintaining Windows and optimizing internet speed of browsers aswell as identifying and solving some problems. It is NOT a good system optimizer, and nothing really is other than not installing too much stuff on your machine. I doubt TU's tools can gain you more than 2 seconds boot time. Version 2010 comes with Windows 7 support whereas 2009 misidentified some things such as saying my graphics score is 0.0 and suggesting a better card or drivers. I was more concerned about boot logo and logon screen tweaks which could fail catastrophically on Windows 7 because they are not the same as Vista's. 2010 can do them well. 2010 adds Turbo and Win7 compatibility over 2009, in a nutshell.
I have TU 2010 and to be honest with you guys I don't see the improvement at all, perfomance wise atleast. Sure theres some tweaks and settings and sweet looking UI but I havent noticed any improvement using TU2010. I actually prefer using Windows 7 Manager to change most settings in my OS. It's pretty thorough IMHO and have settings that TU does'nt. My specs are kinda average for a laptop, nowadays. T6400 @ 2 gigs, 4 gig of ram Win7 Ultimate X64. Maybe if my laptop was pretty outdated I might see the difference. I got it set up to automatically go into Turbo mode and makes no difference..... /shrug
TU is a great AIO soft to use to "Maintain" your system. The speeding up part is IMO a variable... on some systems it may cause a reverse effect due to the amount of bundled services it register to auto-startup with windows for it to work properly to well.... maintain your system. Ive personally been using TU for a few years on 1 machine while having the other config with standalone+task scheduling that does basically the same thing. Anyway, I will recommend TU over others as it seems to work best IMOE. With regards to turbo mode... its not a wonder button. Its main purpose is to aid current active program that utilises lots of resources to be able to run much smoother without unwanted interference from background apps (depending on how its config) e.g. gaming. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
Just don't use Registry Cleaner function. You'll regret it, as I did. It took me weeks to get a working system again.
Yepp, its a nice piece of software. It saves time, because it got some tweaks from every part of the OS in it. Like removing shortcuts, tweaking the Logon-Screen or some other visual styles. And some other usefull stuff! btw. what is wrong with the registrycleaner? I used it serveral times with no problems.
Why don't you recommend the registry cleaner? TU has the most safe registry cleaner that I ever used and IMO is one of the best features of this software. There is just one TU feature that I don't use: disk defragmenter. It is a good defragmenter but I prefer the Windows buit-in one.
been using it since wow... 2005 i think? great piece of software and i install it on pretty much every computer i come across.. anybody ive ever given the product to loves it and swears by it after... registry cleaner can cause some issues occasionally but for the most part is idiot proof depending on the level of idiot using it hahaha personally i like tu2008 the best but thats just me... seeing how this is the 7 forum you have little choice but to use the newset version
Great tool. Doesn't really increase performance imo, but keeps your system in optimal shape. Of course if your pc is already a complete mess and you run TU then, you'll get better performance.
I find TU2010 to be very usefull indeed. Reg cleaner is also good. Always back up your registry before cleaning.
I been using TU since 06. I liked the ease of how it put everything in one easy spot to tweak the system on XP with out having to go everywhere and find all the settings. Also made it easy to figure out what was starting on bootup. Aside from that I have not really noticed any kind speed increase from 2010 either in turbo mode or regular.
