I would have to agree with you Sam, I am running Tuneup on my computers and have been for a while now. Spotmau is nice in its abilities to help after things go south, forgotten passwords and such!

Just compare two websites and I could say TuneUp is better.
    Usually better website, better application

I use tune up, ccleaner, and winaso; but somehow I think winaso cleans out more than the other two. Anyway use all 3 daily.
Is it wise to defrag registry on a routine basis??. I have seen that after defragging registry (as opposed to defrag hard disk), some programs show errors.

    Tuneup anytime over Spotmau !
But in terms of feature set & effectiveness I'd say win7 manager is the best of the lot available out there.
    1> Yamicsoft win7 manager
    2> IOLO System Mechanic
    3> Totalidea Tweak7
These for me are the top three sys utilities in every way.

I love TuneUp but you're right..
it's starting to become bloated ..
It takes soo long for TuneUp to start..
Extremely poor responsiveness.. i think they need to improve on that ..
I have the "Theme Extension" and "Defrag Extension" disabled in Services ..
i don't use the Theme.. and i have Diskeeper for defragging ..

but i understand why they have those extensions..
as it's quite popular among the average user..

as for everything else that TuneUp Provides..
i use it all .. especially "Turbo Mode" which is great for VMware ..

I m not sure how smart is to use tune up, and software like that. When installed, it acts like a master of the system. So other apps become unresponsive to changes made with tune up.
