I've got two questions regarding Insider Program: Based on askvg.com/windows-10-changelog/ there have been 5 Insider builds since the RTM release last July. So I'm asking: when are all the new features included in these builds are scheduled to reach to those that use the General Release/RTM builds? Joining Insider Program requires connecting with a Microsoft Account. I currently use a local account in build 10240 RTM, fully updated (activated via KMS since win8.1 using Microsoft Toolkit 2.6) . I'm thinking about joining the Insider program, in order to get the newest, 10576 build. If I use a Microsoft email to join that program, is this some kind of "giveaway" to Microsoft that I don't have genuine Windows, or it doesn't matter? I mean, is it considered safe? Sorry if these questions have been answered many times, but I couldn't find anything relevant.
I would assume that sometime within November (it was the 2nd but rumors have it delayed) there will be an RTM with new features. We will need to wait and see what is included or not. As far as joining Insider Program, go right ahead. I am an insider, and haven't had genuine (paid for) Windows since XP. It is not a problem. MS really doesn't care.
No worries about getting cought with an not genuine windows ! Had it once and all you get is an warning about your windows and an opertunity to get genuine for an lower price how nice is that !!
Thank you very much for the replies. So, I just joined the program. (I'm in slow ring, by default). In Windows Update|Advanced Settings it says that 'you are all set to reveive Insider builds'. But, "Check for updates" doesn't find ANY updates (I tried it a couple of times). Why is that?
Thanks, but shouldn't it find some updates while in slow ring? I've read that Windows 10 build 10565 was the first to hit slow ring since 10240.
Depends on which build you are on There are not so much releases in the slow ring as in the fast ring ofcourse And you should have some patience before it shows up anyway
Even in fast ring it finds nothing. Maybe it takes some hours/days, for it to become activated for the microsoft account I gave? edit : just saw your edited reply. Ok, so I'll wait.
not joining the insider program means u always run a none genuine copy....so u most activate via KMS.
Doesn't matter. Means nothing to run a genuine insider build that expires and every new build can be found somewhere to install and try.
