Does anyone know if there is a way yet to extract the SLIC 3.0 section from a UEFI firmware or how to check to see if one even exists in it? My Alienware laptop got an update recently that updated the EFI firmware to support UEFI boot mode, Secure Boot, and Windows 8 Fast Boot so I'm thinking they may of updated the SLIC too while they were at it.

Yep. Figured that out later on. Bios update doesn't modify existing SLIC from what I can tell. :(

Do you know if the OA3.0 bit in the BIOS was relocated or should it still be in the same spot? RW-Everything showed 2.1 on it's reports still.

No. I don't see a MSDM table in RW-Everything. I may just be looking in the wrong place the ACPI tables seem to have everything except that.

Then nothing new in terms of OA.. in OA 3.0, there should be a MSDM table.

Well, the SLIC isn't present. You need to enable it.

ty.. do you know of a way to boot from an external 3TB HD vs. Pen Drive?
    - i keep getting "Write Protected" when trying to format..

i think it's related to the large size.
i do have EaseUS Partition Manager and am able to format as FAT32..
but when i use the HP Format Utility.. it errors.

worst case scenario. . i'll have to purchase a Pen Drive..
