So here is my experience I've had similar expirience with Phoenix bios Everest was showing SLIC in it, and I stil wasnt able to Activate, until a modd was done for me from Fzeven. I gues that the slic was locked before mod. After the mod there was an extra table shown in Everest "Test", which I gues again is the original SLIC but renamed to Test, and a new SLIC with static adres was added.
still no luck??? I tried install vista ultimate without the key. After that I install the oem cert and then the key (HP key). But vista still unactivated??? Any hope for my pc???
It looks like you have incomplite SLIC in your bios, try asking for a mod. Or make a memmory dump, and consulte with some of the modders.
Have you tried the other cert? Install acpiscope Goto file---> load information from bios. Save and upload the *.ats file. To check if SLIC is fully present. But IMO the mod is well done!!! So it has to be another problem.
This was the first AMI bios I've ever seen with that kind of protection (fixed OEM) Maybe some other OEM will follow. (This will cause as result that a working automatic modtool is much more difficult to realize.) Asus was first at AMI bios but they don't have a fixed OEM, they have a signature at the biosfile itself and a lock to call SLIC from FC module. So this is like the fixed OEM at Phoenix bios. Here it wasn't difficult to find the code which set the OEM.
I have a newer version of the same BIOS as cupidnior. Could it please also be modified: ASUS IPIBL-LA v5.13 If I dump the contents of my BIOS with afuwin.exe, will it reveal any cd keys or any other personal/ identifying information ? Thank you
