could be a issue with the brand of card u mite have to try a few third party SD format software until u find one that works...or the that SD is damaged in some way.
The card worked perfectly, until (probably) one day it was removed from the computer, before it was supposed to be removed. That somehow "locked" the card in inaccessable state. But as loads of software CAN acces the card, and even recognizes its size, 64GB, (pictures in #1) I would like to understand why then it cannot be formatted, as this is the only problem. "SD is damaged in some way" is not really an answer to my question...
Some sdcard controllers detect when the NAND flash has too many bad sectors and sets it to "read only" so that you can backup your data and replace the card. If you can't write a single byte to it, that's most likely the cause.
How can a memory section be "broken" on an almost new sd, which worked perfectly well until the moment it was removed too early?
Your "answers" were a waste of time, because all you did was re-writing things that others had asked and were already answered and written in my original question, WHICH YOU OBVIOUSLY DID NOT READ. A behaviour that seems to become more and more normal here, as one can blatantly see in the ESU thread, where more than a thousand questions were only asked, because the forists consider themselves too important to waste their time by at least reading the very first post...
theirs no specific answer as to why your sd card went bad but it does happen the brand also could be a issue some are better than others when it comes durability and quality also theirs a lot chinese fakes out their dont over think it to much does things happen...u can pick one up on ebay real cheap.
You are still misunderstanding. If you research the internet you will find quite a few people to whom this has happened. We were not careful enough, when we removed it from the computer. We all got the answer that the sd is "broken" or is "bad", and so cannot accessed. It had NOTHING to do with being chinese or whatever. Cause and effect are quite common... As the size can be read, it IS accessed, and even if it were not, it still would be interesting why exactly it cannot simply be formatted. An unallocated partition can be expanded away without any problem, and formatted. And in all the 18 answers again I did not get one answer, that actually answers my question. Now I used to a simple car mechanic, and if anything "unexplainable" would happen to any part of a car, it would be looked into. With computers its seems that everybody is simply repeating what others have said, if no one has explained it, the that is it... So, entertain yourself for three minutes: Read my Questions in #1, and then read the "answers".... Same thing happened when I asked, why my LAN connection after start up takes 2 Minutes to connect, or why a certain hardware set-up freezes.
