I don't use chrome so I have no idea what the problem might be, but I would suggest trying a different browser to see if you have any errors with it. This will at least tell you if its a problem with chrome or your system.
Why you're using Chrome for to download? Chrome is running as 32bit! Use an Download Manager like IDM, JDownloader etc. with an Chrome Extension which would mainly faster and less problematic!!
