Unlock all versions of Windows 7 from your DVD or Image file (x64 or x86)

    no need to delete anything else, just the ei.cfg or open ei.cfg with notepad and edit it like this...

    No. Only deleting ei.cfg files is enough. :biggrin:

    Its better though to delete the file instead of editing it!!

    Windows 7 was released in 2009 and not 2008 :p

    that is irrellevent really ,the same method worked with Vista too, there must be dozens of older threads that discuss this ,there is no longer any need to go down the road of using ISO tools to open and edit ,there is an excellent tool available here "eicfg.removal tool"link a few posts up, that does the whole thing perfectly without the need for additional editing or rebuilding the ISO. the author even made another tool for switching versions that also works well.

    how to do this for Microsoft.Windows.7.ULTIMATE.x86.OEM.DVD-BIE. There is no file named "ei.cfg" in it.

    As tcntad said, dont use any BIE crap!!! BTW they sysprepped an Ultimate image... so there is no ei.cfg!!! If u open the install.wim by 7-zip, u can also see that there is only one index!!!

    how i cna convert BIE to normal window 7 installation. I don't want to download it all over again.

    That I dont know.. Better is to redownload the ISO again to make sure your clean.
    SInce the image is sysprepped with applications and the loader.

    so if i have a professional copy of x64 win7 and i do this can i choose to install x86 version with the modified copy or will i only be able to choose x64 versions?
