hi everyone i would like to know how to unpack the windows 7 service pack 1,it says that is a Self Extracting Stub but i dont know how to unpack the windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe. i tried using CMD with the command /ectract but it says invalid data . i tried Uniextract too but i dont work too . any idea on how to unpack it to extract the CAB file inside ??
probably not the right way but double click on the exe and it will extract and a window will appear asking you if you want to install, do nothing, go in to the app data folder and you'll find all the extracted files in a temp folder
start cmd as admin and try "filename.exe /extract" That should work just fine.. For the cabfiles, you can use winrar or whatever or the expand command.
i tryied that . isn't nothing there . it unpacks partialy on C:\cd8b0b57172ab3cabeed4a9e3e37 or something like that but no trace of the CAB file
finnaly i've got it it will unpack on C:\cd8b0b57172ab3cabeed4a9e3e37\d644083b38aa3f5a7db34257fbb9c5 or something like that it may be different 4 u .. however just begin the installation of service pack 1 and after that the setup will begin (after that it have create a restore point) the service pack will be fully extracted on the up mentioned directory .copy the extracted files on Desktop or wherever u like and than cancel the installation . I hope will help anyone with this.
You only need to unpack if your are integrating with dism for normal SP1 update just run the windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe
