Sir i will try it & reply with my experience on ventoy . thanks a lot for sharing this tool on our community if it will support direct wim boot too both legacy as well as Uefi on both mbr or gpt disk layout then it will be rocking .
Not sure. Don't confuse (us) poor MDL users with complicated stuff like that For now, just settle with the easy ISO features
Sir it doesnt work for me on 16gb Sandisk usb2 pen drive . after installing ventoy it assigned drive as RAW format & i have to format it again to either fat32 or NTFS as per my needs & as well as it removed drive letter which was E: prior to installing the ventoy . Thanks & Regards
@ Atari800XL Thanks for your recommendation! Ventoy is fresh and growing, comments and suggestions are welcome!
See, that's what I thought So tell us, what do you like about it? (At least then I know I'm not the only one...) Now, if we could only get @Enthousiast to give it a whirl
agFM is another great project. v7.1.0+ grubfm_multiarch.iso is marked as "Ventoy Compatible" (see a1ive's release notes) .
So Ventoy, how do you see the differences between your tool and agFM? Am I correct in saying that both programs can exist next to each other? With Ventoy being the "Easiest to use" solution, and agFM to be the powerful addition for more advanced users? Great to see agFM has added the Ventoy Compatible information, so both tools can coexist in peace Maybe we should add some agFM information to the first post of this topic.
Ventoy is a whole solution, not only boot but also the whole installation process for every iso (iso that not just boot like PE) The main problem is that, after boot, the kernel will not find it's source media in normal case. Because the source is just an iso file in the USB drive. So how to tell the kernel? How the kernel find the iso file and mount it? (some linux kernel can't natively support exfat/ntfs) Ventoy get them in the backend. I give a sense: 1. CentOS-7-x86_64-Everything-1908.iso (10GB) in a USB drive 2. file not contingous in the USB drive 3. boot directly from the iso without extraction 4. not only boot but the whole installation As I known, no other tool can give a solution with these conditions.
