Hi! well im new and id like to ask anyone if they could help me out with updating my BIOS. I have a sony VGN C220E and i had 2 gb Ram on it and i updated it to 3gb. windows 7 recognized the 3gb and it works fine Thing is when i have the 3gb ram it wont boot through CD cus i wanted re reformat my windows. i put the original 2gb back on and it works fine... i asked around and they said i had to update my BIOs in order for it to boot and work normally with the 3gb ram because my BIOs version is still the version from back when i bought the laptop. so i was wondering if anyone had any idea how i can update this BIOS It is a pheonix BIOS. You go to the Sony web site and search for BIOS updates and then search for the model number of your system. BIOSes are usually provided by the motherboard manufacturer and/or the system manufacturer - be wary of any other source.
yes i went on the pheonix website and they redirected me to an essuport website But to update my BIOS i got to pay. i will check the sony website though.
