Update released today 05-10-2011. This update may be required before selected future updates can be installed. Is it safe to install or will it break activation?

I have a mix of retail keys and Daz's loader and just installed it on my sixth machine ... no problems on any of them. But I also have multiple system images of all machines so why worry; be happy.

I'm very curious about this update. The last time I saw this description for an update it was in preparation for installation of SP1. I've read rumors of SP2 being close already. I guess we'll see.

Everyone convinced me so I installed the update, rebooted, and no problems. Thanks to everyone for your input.

I installed a few non-security updates today. My desktop will not show after entering my password so I manually reboot. It works. When I recheck windows update, kb2533552 came up again, so I assume this was the cause of the problem.
