Trying to update a friend's Lenovo laptop from Windows 11 22H1 to 22H2, he tried via Windows update as the update was offered, the installation starts, the laptop reboots a few times, then towards the end it just freezes on a black screen so he force shut down the laptop and next reboot he was offered to revert the changes.

I then tried to update directly via the latest ISO offered by MCT but the same issue happens, all drivers are up to date on his laptop.

Any suggestion of how to get this update installed?

Or just do an in place upgrade, likely to fix it and you get to keep everything.

Go inside the softwaredistribution folder and delete everything inside the SLS folder and everything inside the download folder and try the upgrade again.

That's what I ended up doing. Nothing else worked.

delete everything in the Temp file also.....if that fails then is either HW issue or incompatibility issue most likely a driver...also do the upgrade offline see it that works.
