Just mount ISO, and copy files to USB stick, or extract ISO to usb stick, then boot to it. That us all which is necessary. FAT32 for UEFI or BIOS, NTFS for BIOS. :)

When writing instructions, you need to write them so that anyone can understand them. Write them like an SOP in a workplace.

So, no rufus needed, as long as it is an iso?

Right. You just format your thumb drive, then either extract ISO to it, or mount ISO and copy over files. Then reboot to thumb drive and install Windows.

  6. Hi @Akeo thank you for making this beautiful software.
i want to request few thing in rufus.
1.ability to work with multiple partition on usb and option to choose on which partition i want to make usb bootable.
2.an option to make bootable usb, without formatting the usb.
these two feature would be helpful.i guess. thanks.

@Akeo I've been a user of your tool for ages & just love it! Most of my installs are from a 128GB USB3 Key formatted as NTFS.
I also have a 256GB M.2 Sata drive in an external USB3 enclosure. The installs from this are lightning fast.
Rufus however has never seen this as a viable drive. I always have to image a standard USB key to it.
Once the image is written it works fine.
What could be the reason for this?

does this -extra fat partition- trick work with secure bios enabled devices? you can not disable secure boot with some laptops.
