Is there any way to update a Storage Server 2008 R2 instance to Server 2012 R2 somehow? Can I update Storage Server 2008 R2 to Server 2008 R2 Standard and then update that to Server 2012 R2?

I'm trying to avoid doing a clean install as I have a ton of setup on this server.

Are you have installed Windows Server 2008 R2 with Storage Server 2008 R2 Branding Pack or Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials?

I'll tell you what LaCie support told me about a 5Big that came with SS2008R2 preinstalled... no supported upgrade path; Storage Server is for OEM's only and they had no plans to make an upgrade available.

I ended up scrapping it and starting over with Server 2012R2. While doing that, I discovered an unused Intel RAID Manager in the BIOS; they were using Windows software RAID in their configuration.

You have the LaCie SLIC dump by any chance?
