We can port Integrate7 as it's open source so it will be easier, do you have official MS links for the updates?

I have already created Vista2ESD with all updates for creating syspreped ISO. I have 660 files (counted all x86 and x64) that are needed to get fully updated image to 12-2021 without superseded ones. But It will be released in 2022 after XP2ESD v1.6.

I haven't been installing Root Certificate after installing drivers.
I've been installing it (and NET Framework 3.5 SP1/4.6.1) before installing drivers.

I'm not concerned about wearing out the 2 SSD's in my test laptop.
If I do, I have spare SSD's to replace them with.

KB5009627 installed successfully in Ultimate. Odd that KB5008274 never did install but I am assuming it is not required by anything other that Server 2008. Thank you CaptainSpeleo!

I had no trouble installing KB5008274 last month and KB5009627 this month.
After each one is obtained from the Microsoft Update Catalog site, make sure to stop the "Windows Update" service from running BEFORE installing it.

I have no idea why you're having a problem with installing the December 2021(KB5008274) or the January 2022(KB5009627) Security Monthly Quality Rollup.
I completed the entire guide twice (once before and once after "patch Tuesday"), and both SMQR's installed fine.

I use a clean untouched copy of Windows Vista Business SP2 64-bit with the guide.
Is your Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64-bit a clean untouched copy, or is it a homebrew copy?

Your Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64-bit computer is set up noticeably different than mine, so it's my guess it's the root of your problem.
It's your choice to install the 24 security only updates (Feb '20 - Jan '22), but it's my guess they also will fail to install.

I thought they said only December 2021 and January 2022 didn't install, so they can just install those updates.

He's been having issues with installing the larger Security Monthly Quality Rollup(SMQR) updates for the past 2 months.
He inquired about switching to the smaller Security Only Quality Update(SOQU) updates.

After hacking away for 48 hours, I finally hit the jackpot today. I permanently uninstalled Webroot SA which was clogging up the system as well as interfering with installations and that really helped to speed up the PC. Then I disabled Windows Update as recommended and manually installed SOQU KB5009601 which this time worked smoothly. I reckon I can dispense with the earlier security updates unless there is anything essential included.

There was an optional update listed KB5010799 but that failed to install with the comment "...not intended for this installation".

It looks as if it will be exclusively SOQU going forward.

I suspected that Webroot SA was contributing to your problem, so I'm glad to hear you got rid of it.

I no longer test and set up the guide with SOQU updates.
I now test and set it up only with SMQR updates.

I performed a clean install and update of Windows Vista SP2 64-bit over the weekend.

I decided to test and use a new Roots Certificate which was provided by HHo2016.
    https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/root-certificates-update.84847/

I also decided to test and use the KB4575904 Extended Security Updates Licensing Preparation Package which has been a nightmare for the past several months because it has been breaking Windows Update and displaying an error code.

I am very happy to say that Windows Update now works fine and detects and installs the most current (January 2022) Security Monthly Quality Rollup and Microsoft .NET Framework and other updates for Windows Server 2008 64-bit. :)

Hopefully, when the February 2022 "patch Tuesday" arrives, Windows Update will detect and install the updates for that month/year.

    ExtremeGrief:

I received your message with the attached executable file.
Do you know for sure if it works with Windows Vista SP2 64-bit?
If it does, I'm willing to test it the next time I do a clean install and update.

Thanks for the offer to teach me how to create a custom root certificate.
But I have to decline because I'm sure it's beyond my ability to do it.

    Okay, thanks.
I'll download and save that executable file and then try it out on my next test clean install and update.
