i just tried to update y current windows 10 to 21H1 (downloaded ISO then updated)
all seemed to work fine until it rebooted, i got the message "undoing changes done to your system"... and after windows boot back on i received the attached failure message from the installer?
    any idea what's wrong?

Prob a driver issue and download the en-us iso to work with the upgrade

    i'm on 19042.928 (20H2)

i did do DISM repair …, and seems to fix some error, but can i install the ISO now with the different language pack
i could then change it back after installation

i understand, but i think i have a different issue, i didn't figure out yet, because i fixed the errors, and the update appeared on the windows update, i tried to download it and install through win update, but after the download it also was unable to install
maybe something is corrupted in my Windows, can't figure out what

There comes a time when a clean installation is a much better and much more satisfying solution. :)

well, i did , but for some reason i. lost my activation, i had the free activation since they released it for upgrading , I never had an issue either upgrading or making a fresh install
this should be related to the different language pack
now i have to download the original language and do a 3rd install

Activation is certainly not language related, Windows only checks for hardware changes, ie to be on the same computer.
Before You're going to reinstall, wait for some days and also make some restarts. NB! be sure that Windows closes fully and You may also log on to Your Microsoft account settings separately or/and ask for support from Microsoft.

Can you runt the QT from here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/multi-oem-retail-project-mrp-mk3.71555/#post-1283849 and post the saved report here in code tags (not the private report)?

I really don't know what the issue was, there was a message on Settings we can't activate this version of windows, and activate now , i clicked on it, it took me to the usual about page...
there there was a message in red that says an able to activate on this computer (or hardware, something like that) and i didn't change anything HW wise, so i clicked troubleshooting, it took 1-2 mins to diagnose and then it activated the windows automatically

@Enthousiast I'll try to run the QT command

Never put up the private copy of the report online. There is a public copy of the report created that you can post safely as it already has private data redacted.
