Updating XP service pack 2 to service pack 3

    Question if i install windows xp sp3 by windows update on my sp2 the local disk C: will be formatted also local disk D:?
    Sorry im just a newb

    Absolutely not.......
    no disk will be formatted....
    It will just update some system files, that's all.....:)

    No your disks will stay the way they are at the moment.

    If it's a matter to re-install he can just collect and install the sp3 os..why installing the old one and then update??????o_Oo_O:confused::confused:

    No I manually installed that Sp2 last month because i have the original CD of sp2 pro.....thats why im askin' if my hard drive will stay at moment
