I ran the 8.1 upgrade, and it seems to be installed, in that if I try to run the installer again, it says it's already installed, and the KB number appears in the Windows updates list. I used this file to upgrade:
    Windows8-RT-KB2849636-X64.MSU

    However:
    1. None of the changes from 8.0 to 8.1 have occurred.
    2. My system information says the installed version of Windows is 6.2.9200.16442.

    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Any suggestions?

That's what you install to get the update from the store. Open the store and you'll be prompted to download the 8.1 preview

Question is, how is Windows activated. I know the upgrade is offered via store for legit Retail activated systems. In case system is KMS activated, there won´t be such an offer. Not shure how it reacts on MAKs.

Now RTM is released, and you can probably upgrade without problems. ;)
