Friends, kindly help to advise me pls. I ve 7264 now and it's activated. I got the 7600 iso now. I want to upgrade it. How? Can i just upgrade it then all of my programs remain? If i upgrade, can i mount the iso of 7600 to an virtual drive? If i don't want to burn an Dvd. What is the cons of upgrading comparing with fresh installation? Thanks for yr help before hand
Usually all works without problems, however there is a higher chance that something could go wrong (apps not working etc.) when upgrading than a fresh-install.
If you upgrade you will lose the shell integration stuff. Also the activation is gone And a upgrade will take a lot longer than a fresh install

No Go For Me Usually do a clean install,but tried upgrade from 7260 to 7600.Decided to let M/S,do a download update,which installed a 1300Kb's file ???Everything seemed ok during upgrade,except that last time on Win 7 it took over 2 hours,this time only 1 hour.As usual my graphics was all shot,800x600 resolution,and all my previous programs were gone and all packaged in old Windows ,so on updating drivers,restarted.On boot got dual boot of Win 7 and go back to old Win 7.Decided to go back,and re-installation saying update failed and reverting back,which it did in about 5 minutes.Everything back as before,breathed sigh of relief...So definitely not advisable to upgrade.
if you had the option to go back to previous version update was not done yet, thus the reason nothing was working.
Me too, in fact some of the upgrades worked better than clean installs. Who'd a thunk it? ETA - Using Acronis True Image, I keep constant backups of my drives - just in case. So far the only problems I've had have been me.
every time i install or upgrade i select the option get updates later as this can sometimes mess up.can always get updates once it is finished installing or upgrading.have a good one.
Finally i made it. Build 7600. It took around 1.30hours to finish the upgrade. Now i ve all things of my program, but windows upgrade. Only one little thing, activation is gone. I'll need to search around more
now i may confirm, i can activate the 7600. i used the toolkit 1.8 by heet. try it out as what i know as per my knowledge and just wanna share.
yes i may recommend so. i was actually using the magicdisc to ve the virtual drive. Then it not pass the capability thus i uninstalled. Regards and best of luck
