Hello there, I am using Dell Vostro 5568 laptop with Intel AC-3156 WiFi card. I want to upgrade/replace my card and what is the best option to do so? Thanks!
You have to research it yourself, I can't make recommendations, simply have never examined them. Honestly, I haven't checked because the both still under warranty. Release times respectively: Inspiron - 2019 and Vostro - 2020. I have everything factory original at the moment, and I think it will stay that way at least until the end of the warranty period. I can't find the versions right now, I'll look it later, I'm currently a bit busy.
@Tito thanks for your advice. I have ordered the card you suggested. Thanks again, you are very kind.
Great! My thought is that all humans are curious beings. You might want to try other OS in the future. Perhaps you would like to try Linux for some reason and that is where you would encounter driver issue for this WI-FI module.
For now I don't need Linux nor any other OS than LTSC. In the future I don't know, maybe, but I don't need Linux. Thanks for the advice.
if you want to use promiscous mode to capture packets via that wlan crad from aircrack suite then i would suggest to go with atheros 9271 the best . or if you want to use it for accessing intranet then any module ralink realtek intel will be good certainly a,b,g,n class
I will just use it for simple internet, just wanted to get better signal comparing with Intel AC-3165 which is a little bit slow. I am just using for simple internet on my laptop. Is there any security issues with AX200?
Thanks to @Tito and @emet for this great info. I also have a desire to start thinking about the same thing when it is so much faster. I have one similar Vostro and one Inspiron, now just need check out what is there by default installed and is it possible to replace with like You did.
