There is no official upgrade path from the discontinued Windows Server 2019 SAC editions to Windows Server 2022. However, with some registry changes it is possible to do an in-place-upgrade, keeping all the settings & data. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion Your old values should look something like that for the Windows Standard edition: EditionId:ServerStandardACor ProductId:00455-60000-00001-AA252 New values: EditionId: ServerStandard ProductId: 00429-70000-00000-AA946 Now run the Windows Server 2022 setup and the option to keep the data & settings will be available.
Cool does this work with Windows Server 2019 LTSC build, or can i keep this value and do an in-place-upgrade? Current LTSC value: EditionId: ServerStandard ProductId: 00429-30000-20102-AAOEM
If the installation fails it fails very early, on the other hand the registry edit is quick and doesn't require a reboot. In short is easier to try personally than to wait on the forum. Likely you have to edit the registry, imo.
Windows Server 2019 LTSC to Windows Server 2022 LTSC is already a supported upgrade path, you don't need to trick the installer. This guide is specifically for SAC to LTSC upgrades as there is no official upgrade path at the moment.
